What went wrong in the Garden of Eden?

Let’s take a new perspective. Alright?

The God made the heavens and the earth and on the last day he created the humans since there wasn’t anyone to take care of his creations, this is known.  Now he wanted the human to take up the responsibility for the creations and thus Adam was created was made the leader and commander of everything. Here we see the authority transfer from God to Adam. So Adam was supposed to “work” and protect God’s creations. Adam working hard in his own garden where he is the only commander doesn’t seem like something a commander of creations would do. Are we missing out the principles of obedience that Adam had to follow to actually be worthy of his position.

On to the next phase, Genesis chapter 2 verses 16 says- And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”

What are different perspectives one can derive from this simple verse. Firstly the Lord God never doubted his authority on man which had some serious flaws, he thought man wouldn’t disobey him and then he added pinch of threatening to make sure that the human would stay in his tracks. Secondly, he forbid man to eat the fruit of knowledge of good and evil, if he had created the human so naïve, he should possibly know that the man could be tempted with mere persuasion tactics. And thirdly if he created man and wanted man to be in charge of that beautiful and precious Garden, would he have unconsciously wanted man to actually possess the skills and knowledge to govern the garden better, that is another terms did the Lord just try a dose of reverse psychology on them, innately hoping that maybe they would eventually deceive him.

Now in the next scenario man was lonely and though he named each of the creations of God, he didn’t find someone who was a suitable “helper” to him, all you feminists take note. Of course the Lord meant no offense. So he created woman out of the bone of man’s ribs, like the Lord had enough time to create man but then when it came to the women, he had to take a bone out of man. Seriously? Was there a slight dose of patriarchy within the Lord’s creation?

Next is the temptation scenario by the snake, of course snakes are cunning, sly and are so “slytherin” (yes, I’m a potterhead). Now the snake arrives and tempts Eve to try out the fruit, Eve does and asks Adam to do the same. Ultimately it’s all Eve’s fault because she fell into the pit of darkness and sin and moral of the story- All women must be under supervision, because of course they can be tempted. (Ahem! Patriarchy alert). No one dare blame Adam who had a minor backbone issue to stand up for what he believed but instead follow exactly what Eve said. Oh poor Adam!

Next the Lord arrives and sees the man and woman hiding and you know the rest.

Was it all that was supposed to happen one day or the other day?

OR

What is something that was made to happen? In order to tell the future generations that “Yes, We were the descendants of the original sinners. So stay in the path of light so you may not falter”

What was it?

You say!
